Located over the
old opium-war battleground, the Humen Bridge is near
the Humen Fortress. It stretches from Humen in the east
to Panyu in the west and over the Pearl River estuary.
Shooting up from the ground, the 15.6 kilometers long
bridge resembles a rainbow. As the venue where China's
modern history began, Humen was one of the first places
to embrace the reform and opening-up. It is currently
an educational base for patriotism that connects China's
past and future.
