The City Tower
was built during the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty.
There once was a circumvallation connecting Taoist Mountain,
South City, East Gate and the North Gate. The circumvallation
encircled the city and was 4,287 meters long. The West
Gate of Ying'en is a main landmark in the history of
the city. It is located near the Cultural Square, with
beautiful fountains and green grass that form a prosperous
image of a new era. These modern facilities and the
relics combine to bring out the best of the city's long
history and deeply-rooted culture.
