of the environment protection code is closely monitored
by the government. The government examines the manufacturing
processes of every industry. All new enterprises must
pass the relevant environment protection evaluation; any
project that fails to comply with these standards is objected.
Research on environment protection
measures: the government has a research fund to develop
new environment protection measures. The measures should
focus on saving of energy, reduction of consumption,
reduction of pollution and the integrated use of resources.
The achievements of this research are promoted and given
priority.
Advocating clean production: the government
introduced a clean production code and invites enterprises
to obtain the ISO 14000 certification. Therefore, the
city's environment protection follows international
standards.

Environment monitoring station: the
city government has developed a comprehensive system
to control potable water resource, surface water, air
quality and noise levels through the use of an environment
monitoring station. The station has been accepted by
China's National Laboratory.
