Situated
in the south central area of Guangdong, the city is on the
east bank of the Zhujiang estuary, south of Guangzhou, north
of Shenzhen. It is a strategic location in the middle of the
Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong economic corridor. The land area
of the city is 2,465 square kilometers and the total population
is almost 6.48 million.
